This was painted for my father's book, Pennsy Power III. It was meant to evoke the feeling of old railroad calendar art of the 30' through 50's.
The caption my father wrote reads: "M1a 6759 is coaled-up for her next run and the men from the cab are in process of "oiling-around." In addition to checking mechanical-lubricator levels, they will visually inspect all the spots that are prone to running dry and hot, like crank pins, rod pins and driver journal boxes. The H8 Consolidation in the background is a bit envious of the mighty monster alongside.
This is available as a print (see print options). The price depends on the surface and size you choose. Recommended for stretched canvas, 18 x 12.
